First Two Fairelle on Sale One Week Only!

Hey Everyone! It’s been a while, both on my blog as well as on my newsletter and I feel like I’ve abandoned you 🙁 I am sorry to those of you that have waited for my next book! I’ve had so much going on! Between writing screenplays and turning a few of my book series into TV series to my son’s auditions, to having to move and all of my conventions in between! WHEW! I have been so busy! And because of that I’ve not posted as much as I’d like. So I decided to make it up to you I’d do a sale!!

The first book in my Fairelle series Red the Were Hunter is FREE for one week!

What if you were the key to an ancient prophecy that would begin to heal your lands, but fulfilling your destiny meant you had to turn your back on everything you’d been taught to believe in?

Redlynn of Volkzene, a member of the Sisterhood of Red, is heartbroken to discover another girl kidnapped and her best friend slain by werewolves. Defying the head of her order, she sets out to kill the beast she believes responsible.  The King of the Weres– But there are worse things in WolvenglenForest than the wolves.

Adrian, reluctant heir to the throne of Wolvenglen, and his band of wolf brothers are bound to protect the humans; especially the Sisterhood. Finding Redlynn unconscious in his woods, awakens in him a passion he’s never before experienced and a protective instinct that has him ready to turn on his own men. Problem is, a female is the last thing Adrian needs complicating his life.

But all is not as it seems in Wolvenglen Forest and to save the missing girls before time runs out, Redlynn and Adrian must move past their inner demons and learn to trust each other. In the search for vengeance, however, sometimes you have to sacrifice what you desire most.

And the second book Snow the Vampire Slayer is ONLY .99 for one week!

Lady Snow Gwyn is tired of playing “mother” to her seven Vampire Slaying brothers. For the past two years, she’s yearned to be out there fighting at their side as they hunt for bloodsuckers in the black of night. Snow is as good a fighter as any man, but she wasn’t called to be a Slayer. A mere formality in her book.

Prince Sageren, Son of Lothar has spent the last fifty years in exile, awaiting the day when he can finally avenge his family and take back his throne. Barely existing, he’s forced to face his inner demons and the monster he once was, compelling him to vow to never drink from humans again. A simple enough task–until he crosses paths with a human who makes his fangs ache to drain her.

When Snow runs into Prince Sage on a late night trip to the woods, she’s torn between the urge to kill him and the desire to succumb to the feeling he stirs within her. And when Snow’s life is threatened by the same evil that murdered his family, Prince Sage must enlist the aid of Snow’s brothers to not only help him save her life, but to also regain his rightful place as King of the Vampires.

If Sage can keep the Slayers from killing him first.

21 Days of Halloween Countdown Fiction Friday!

Welcome back for another 21 Days of Halloween Fiction Friday! Today I have three more books for you to devour this Halloween season! The first in the first book I ever published, Dead Awakenings. It is a book that is very dear to my heart and the one that I’ve had more people fall in love with than any other!

Dead Awakenings

Being dead can be a great way to find yourself…

Struggling to pay her bills in New York, theater student Evaine Michaels sees an opportunity to make money by taking part in an unsanctioned clinical trial for a new drug. But things don’t go as planned. She wakes up in a derelict hospital, chained to a bed with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Then a band of pale-skinned men, led by the gorgeous Luca, bursts in and rescues her. Evaine is instantly attracted to Luca, but he’s so hell-bent on stopping the experiments, he has no time for the feelings she’s awakening within him.

Safely back at Haven House, Evaine is introduced to The Family and learns that the drug trials have made her a Deader, a reanimated Undead. Evaine and Luca find themselves getting close, until Evaine remembers not only who she is, but that she’s engaged. And her fiancé, Tristan, is probably still looking for her. Torn between her first love and her new heart’s desire, Evaine has some hard choices to make.

But when a rogue faction of Deaders, called Feeders, attempt to kidnap her, Luca suspects Evaine might be the key to the experiments, and everyone must band together to keep Evaine off the cutting table…

The trailer for it is on my home page if you want to see it 🙂

21 Days of Halloween Countdown Fiction Friday!

So what would good would a Halloween countdown be without some great books you can sink your teeth into for Halloween? Over the next 3 Fridays I’ll be putting together some great books from some great author friends of mine for your reading enjoyment! Take a look at these fun stories containing, Vampires, Werewolves & Zombies!

Reign of the Vampires

Reign of the Vampires was one of the first books I wrote.  Set in a world ruled by Vampires the book is told from the Vampire’s point of view. In this dystopian future there are three classes of Vampires.

Vampires – Pure Blooded born vampires, these are the ruling class of the world.

Vampyr – These lower class vampires have either been bitten originally, or are half breeds. Half Vampire half human. Though still considered members of the Vampire Society, they are not looked on as Pure and Royal.

Vamps – These are the lowest class of vampires. They were humans until a decade before when a virus was unleashed turning 99% of the human population into vamps. Vamps do not drink blood, they can go into sunlight and they are used as the workforce for the Vampire Society.

Ten years after the outbreak of the V2000 virus turns normal humans into a mutated Vampire sub-species called vamps, or kills them, humans are the world’s hottest commodity.  Enclaves of scavenging humans are hunted for slaves, for breeding, and for blood. And now, The Society Rules.

Just months after Vampire Lord Danika Checkov, Coven Lord of Chicago, and owner of the largest synthetic blood company in the world, is attacked and almost killed by her vamp assistant, she finds herself reluctantly having to purchase a new slave for protection. What she doesn’t count on is discovering Mason at the Slave Auction. The largest, and most gorgeous human male she has ever seen. Instantly attracted to Mason, he is the first male to actually make her go weak in the knees. But Mason is only for protection, not for pleasure.

Mason is a human slave, or so the Vampires think. Captured, while raiding a nearby town for supplies, Mason’s biggest fear is someone find out what he really is. Planning his escape from the Slave Auction, the last thing he expected to see, was a ravishing redheaded Vampire Lord who makes his blood literally boil. And when he’s purchased for her protection, he finds that his commitment to her may go further than just as a body guard.

Danika suspects her former assistant wasn’t working alone, and now with the Three Kings breathing down her neck, to find a mate, her life is in more danger than even she could imagine. But all she can think about it sinking her teeth into Mason’s willing neck.

When the opportunity to escape arises, Mason must choose between the woman he craves, and the freedom he wants. Because if anyone figures out what Mason really is, those who’ve been hunting him, for the last five hundred years, will find him as well.

As Mason struggles to save Danika from the traitors in her ranks, his very presence in her life, may bring destruction down upon her head.

Next up we have

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000032_00037]

Deep in the underbelly of Montreal, an ancient evil stirs at the time of the Black Moon. Rumors dark as night seep into the public, spoken in hushed tones, as though those who speak are afraid to make the horrors they whisper of come alive.

Azura, a student of witchcraft, wakes up to find her room empty. On her way to class, she finds out that her roommate has been murdered and that the Supernatural Intelligence Agency has been called in. With them comes Rook, the lead investigator, whom Azura finds herself helplessly drawn to. But while Azura is human, Rook is a werewolf, and their romance is as forbidden as it is strong.

As the darkness draws nigh on the city, it falls on Rook and Azura to protect it—and themselves.

21 Day Countdown to Halloween! Ten Scary Books for Halloween

I read a post the other day about the top best Horror books of the 21st century. And it got me thinking of the scariest books I’ve ever read. I don’t read horror anymore, but I used to read it when I was in high school and college, so I get that some of these might be oldies, but it doesn’t make them any less horrifying! So here are my top picks for scary books to read for Halloween.

It by Stephen King
It took me 3 tries to get through that book. It seriously scared the crap out of me. Now the ending wasn’t as I’d hoped it would be but the book is never the less a scary one. Of course Stephen King is the master of horror so what do you expect?

The Stand by Stephen King
Now, I know today this wouldn’t seem as scary. With all we know about biological weapons, they seem pretty much common place. From mutagens, to dirty bombs, they are everywhere. But back in 1992 when I read this book, the idea that a super virus could spread by just someone sneezing on you, let’s just say I was paranoid for MONTHS!!!! I loved this book. It is one of my two Stephen King favorites, but it scared the crap out of me back then.

Dracula by Bram Stoker
This book is not for kids! My daughter asked me if she could read it and so I read it and I was freaked out. It was dark, it was scary and it was awesome! I loved it! If you want a great scary classic, read this one. It’s worth it.

Grimm’s Fairytales
Have you ever read those things? They are seriously messed up! Originally the princesses weren’t all happy and light and their stories didn’t come with happy endings. Some are really dark and gory. Some are sad and tragic. But most of them are pretty scary actually when you think about them. And if you want to get even darker read the origin stories that the Grimm stories came from!

Anything Edgar Allen Poe

Literally anything. You could pick up any of his stories and be scared. Fall of the House of Ushers, The Pit and the Pendulum, Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Tell Tale Heart. All of them are enough to give you chills. Poe is one of my all time favorites and he’s scary as hell.

Anyone of these books is enough to get your blood chilling and have you looking over your shoulder when you climb the stairs at night! So tell me, what are your favorite scary books? Which do you love the most? And if you want to see an article about the best scary books in the last 200 years, go here:

Fiction Friday – Awakened for Christmas

Fiction Friday

So I’m going to try and start doing Fiction Fridays again. The last one I did was a fan fiction from The Hobbit. This one is geared more toward the holiday season. I thought this one might be fun as I just wrote two posts on writing Holiday Romances. So I’m going to give it a shot with this short that will end up being the first chapter in a novel someday. Yup! Since I had the idea for this short story it has formed into a book and from there, a series of books. So here ya go. A bit of Christmas Love for you.

Awakened for Christmas

Samantha’s foot slipped on the slick ice and the mile high stack of Christmas presents her boss had sent her out to pick up flew in every direction along with her purse. She squeezed her eyes shut anticipating the pain of her butt connecting with the ice laden street, when strong hands wrapped around her waist. She opened her eyes to find a warm set of deep green eyes staring down at her, framed by thick dark lashes and a heavy set of manly eyebrows.

“Are you okay, Miss?” His voice came out husky behind the scarf that obscured the rest of his face. He righted her and she sucked in a chilly breath. Holy hell he was the biggest guy she’d ever seen in her life.

Crap! The presents. She scanned the ground, rounding up the gifts and brushing off the snow. A car honked and she looked up as a bright yellow taxi screeched to a stop.

The man stood and she got a nice eyeful of his round rear as he slapped his hand on the hood of the taxi and pulled something from inside his coat. The cabby raised his hands in apology and when her white knight turned back around she caught a glimpse of a metal shield as he shoved it back inside his leather coat.

A cop.

Samantha finished stacking the presents and tried to get her arms around them.

“Thank you for your help,” she said. “I was sure I’d break my tailbone that time.”

He pulled down his black knit scarf to reveal a ruggedly handsome face. Dark scruff stained his cheeks and chin blending seamlessly with his olive skintone.

Samantha averted her eyes to keep from staring at his hard chiseled bone structure and Roman nose. Damn! He was like a Greek statue of Adonis. She scanned the stack surveying the damage to the wrapping paper. Her boss would kill her if they arrived in anything less than pristine condition.

“Can I help you with those?”

“No. Thank you officer. I’m good.” She glanced around at the people rushing past that spared her just enough of a glance to deem her insignificant.

“Detective,” he corrected. “Detective Greco.” He held her black purse out to her in his oversized gloved hands.

She reached for her purse but a business man on his phone bumped her shoulder and almost sent her flying with her packages once more. Detective Greco chuckled.

“Let me at least help you across the intersection.” He wrapped his large gloved hand around her and Samantha’s cheeks flush with heat as he kept her on her feet till the other side of 5th and Broadway.

“There. Safe and sound.” He looked down at her feet. “You really should get some boots. Flats aren’t exactly great as winter shoes here in New York.”

She’d been saving up to buy a pair for the last month and a half.

“I’ll consider that.”

“So, where are you headed with all those packages? You must have a large family.”

“Uhm…” She didn’t have the heart to tell him she hadn’t been crossing the street when she slipped, she’d fallen into it. “They’re not mine. They’re my boss’s. He was in a meeting and had me run out to pick them up for him.”

His brows furrowed and he looked at his watch. “On your lunch hour?”

“I… well… I’m just a temp right now and I’m trying to get hired on permanently so…” It sounded lame, even to her own ears, but she’d moved to New York just two months prior and her rent was already a month behind. She needed this job.

“Do you give that jerk your lunch break often?”

Samantha clenched her jaw but refused to allow his words to offend her. “I really should get back.”

“You have thirty minutes. Can I buy you a cup of coffee first and maybe a sandwich?”

The slight upturn of his smile tempted her to say yes. Detective Greco was the first friendly face she’d seen in a month. Back home everyone smiled, but here it seemed like people thought smiling took too much energy and time.

“Yes, but my walk is about fifteen minutes. If I don’t fall again. So I shouldn’t. Thank you for your help though. You really went above and beyond that protect and serve motto.” She walked past him trepidation building in her gut at not being able to see her feet or the ice and snow below her. Her heart screamed at her for not being nicer to the Detective. After all he’d helped her across the street and offered to buy her lunch.

She glanced over her shoulder at him. “Merry Christmas, Detective Greco!” she called.

His eyes stayed focused on her and she was afraid if she lingered any longer she’d take him up on his offer. But if she was even one minute late getting back from lunch, her boss would dock her pay.

She turned around and headed off into the crowd. The sounds of a Salvation Army bell filled her ears as she tried to figure out where she was. She passed one of the shops she’d picked up packages from earlier and got her bearings. The office was four blocks north.

A block into her trek back her arms ached from the packages of wine for the bosses. Jewelry for two mistresses. A fur coat for the wife. A model airplane for the son. And half a dozen smaller gifts for the staff. None of which had her name on them. She ground to a halt with the rest of the throng at a stop light, unable to see anything except coats and hats. The chatter of people on cell phones buzzed in her ears, drowning out the honk of horns and the occasional Christmas tune floating out of an open store door. The scent of cinnamon flavored coffee wafted toward her from somewhere up ahead and made her stomach rumble. In the moment it took her to catch her breath she berated her from not accepting the detective’s invitation. He really had been as handsome as he’d been kind.

“Miss? Miss?” a voice called. She tried to look around but bodies pressed on her from all sides and she couldn’t tell who was talking or who they were calling.

The light turned green and she was propelled forward with the rest of the herd. Her flats slipped on a patch of ice but with so many people propping her up she kept from going down again. What a mess. She really needed some boots.

Ares kept his eyes trained on the bobbing blond head and gigantic stack of packages. She was a good fifty people in front of him but from his height of close to six foot six it wasn’t too hard to keep track of her. She was the only person in New York City brave enough to not be wearing a hat and scarf.

Her bright blue eyes had shown like twinkling Christmas lights framed by thick light lashes and cheeks pink as berries when he’d stopped her from crashing to the ground. Her lack of boots, scarf and hat told him that this was her first winter in New York.

He clutched her black purse in his hand and watched as she slipped and slid back over the street that he’d helped her across and into a tall business tower. Odd.

Reason told him that he should go into the building, hand the girl her purse and just head back to the station, forgetting her. But his gut pulled him in her direction for gods only knew what reason.

He snorted. Gods only knew, yeah right.

There’d been something alluring about her sweet, innocent nature. It reminded him of the virgins of old. The maidens he’d chased across forests and fields to get at. The ones who’d giggled and protested, only to give in a moment later. But those days were long gone. Long. Gone.

He headed across the street and into the prestigious glass building adorned with a lighted tree at the top and humongous wreaths on the office windows on the second floor. Jolly Old Saint Nicholas played inside the building as he wiped his boots on the red rug and headed for the security desk. Several people were already signing in and he dug inside the black purse for the girl’s wallet and her ID.

Samantha Young.

“Can I help you?” The security guard looked Ares up and down as if he meant to rob the place.

Ares removed his badge from inside his coat. “I’m Detective Greco and I’m looking for Samantha Young. She’s a temp that’s working here.”

The security guard’s face broke into a smile and he nodded. “Let me get you that information.” He clicked on a computer keyboard as Ares tucked his badge away.

“Yes, Miss Young is working for Brackenridge, Ernst and Tobler. The nineteenth floor.”

Ares nodded. His grip tightened around the purse. He should just drop off the purse at the front desk and leave the girl be.

But something inside him had woken up for the first time in over a millennia at the sight of her. And he couldn’t just let that go.

Well, that’s it. What do you think? It’s rough, I know. But it’s the beginning of something I think will be lots of fun! Take care and have a Wonderful Fiction Friday!
