First Two Fairelle on Sale One Week Only!

Hey Everyone! It’s been a while, both on my blog as well as on my newsletter and I feel like I’ve abandoned you 🙁 I am sorry to those of you that have waited for my next book! I’ve had so much going on! Between writing screenplays and turning a few of my book series into TV series to my son’s auditions, to having to move and all of my conventions in between! WHEW! I have been so busy! And because of that I’ve not posted as much as I’d like. So I decided to make it up to you I’d do a sale!!

The first book in my Fairelle series Red the Were Hunter is FREE for one week!

What if you were the key to an ancient prophecy that would begin to heal your lands, but fulfilling your destiny meant you had to turn your back on everything you’d been taught to believe in?

Redlynn of Volkzene, a member of the Sisterhood of Red, is heartbroken to discover another girl kidnapped and her best friend slain by werewolves. Defying the head of her order, she sets out to kill the beast she believes responsible.  The King of the Weres– But there are worse things in WolvenglenForest than the wolves.

Adrian, reluctant heir to the throne of Wolvenglen, and his band of wolf brothers are bound to protect the humans; especially the Sisterhood. Finding Redlynn unconscious in his woods, awakens in him a passion he’s never before experienced and a protective instinct that has him ready to turn on his own men. Problem is, a female is the last thing Adrian needs complicating his life.

But all is not as it seems in Wolvenglen Forest and to save the missing girls before time runs out, Redlynn and Adrian must move past their inner demons and learn to trust each other. In the search for vengeance, however, sometimes you have to sacrifice what you desire most.

And the second book Snow the Vampire Slayer is ONLY .99 for one week!

Lady Snow Gwyn is tired of playing “mother” to her seven Vampire Slaying brothers. For the past two years, she’s yearned to be out there fighting at their side as they hunt for bloodsuckers in the black of night. Snow is as good a fighter as any man, but she wasn’t called to be a Slayer. A mere formality in her book.

Prince Sageren, Son of Lothar has spent the last fifty years in exile, awaiting the day when he can finally avenge his family and take back his throne. Barely existing, he’s forced to face his inner demons and the monster he once was, compelling him to vow to never drink from humans again. A simple enough task–until he crosses paths with a human who makes his fangs ache to drain her.

When Snow runs into Prince Sage on a late night trip to the woods, she’s torn between the urge to kill him and the desire to succumb to the feeling he stirs within her. And when Snow’s life is threatened by the same evil that murdered his family, Prince Sage must enlist the aid of Snow’s brothers to not only help him save her life, but to also regain his rightful place as King of the Vampires.

If Sage can keep the Slayers from killing him first.

Me, Me, Me Monday – My Self Publishing Journey

Okay, so I’ve had a few people ask me to chronicle my adventure into self publishing. For those of you that don’t know, I am self publishing my series Fairelle. A nine book, seven novella series of Fantasy Fairytale Retellings. So every Monday for the next bunch of weeks, I say bunch because it won’t be a few, it’ll be more than a few, but it won’t be forever either, so I’m just sticking with bunch. Anyway, so for the next bunch of Mondays I will be posting about my journey.

It started last year when I was trying to place my first novel Dead Awakenings. I had trouble at first finding a home for it and a friend mention to me that novellas are great for authors early in the careers to try and get their names out. So I then said, “Okay, what would I want to write as novellas?” It took a while but I finally came up with the idea of a series of Fairytale retellings that of course were Paranormal, but also where the characters moved from book to book. I started with Little Red Riding Hood and from there mapped out eight more books:

Red the Were Hunter, Snow the Vampire Slayer, Zelle and the Tower, Cinder the Fae, Belle and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty the Dragon Rider, Rumplestiltskin, The Little Neriadian and Swan Lake.

I knew immediately that I wanted these books to be released at least one every four months. They’re only 55-58k long, so I figured, no big deal. Well…Then I got a couple of cotracts on my other books and realized that it takes publishers 6 months to 18 months to get a book to market. Even a digital first book. At that rate I’d be writing this series for the next eight to sixteen years! Well, anyone who knows me knows I have TERRIBLE, and wonderful Adult ADD. So, that wasn’t going to work for me.

From there I realized I really wanted say over my cover art. Like, REALLY wanted it! I used to be a graphic designer and so good cover art was crazy important to me with this series. Then what I found out was my books didn’t really fit anyone’s expected lengths. Novellas are typically 30-50k and novels are typically 60-75k. Well, mine fell through the cracks. And even though I added to Red and made it 58k, it still wasn’t quite long enough and I felt that if I added to it, I would just be adding to add, and not really doing the story or plot any good. So I decided against it.

Now, let me tell you! For MONTHS I kicked against the pricks! “No!” I told myself. “You will publish this series traditionally!” But for months it seemed no matter what I did, things just didn’t work out.

Now, I should interject here that my husband has been begging me from the beginning of my writing carreer to self publish, but I’ve fought him tooth and nail. Just like I fight him on everything. Why? Well it isn’t because I don’t think he’s a genius. He is. It isn’t that I don’t love him. I do. I just like things to be my idea 🙂 Anyway, finally I decided enough was enough. I was going to self publish them!

So from that decision, I began moving forward and asking every self publisher I knew their secrets and advice. The more I asked the better I felt. The better I felt, the more excited I got! But if you want to hear about some of the things I heard, you’ll have to come back next Monday for more Me, Me, Me Monday 🙂

Thanx for stopping by!

Feature Friday with ME! Rebekah R. Ganiere

So today is Feature Friday so I thought I would feature myself! I’m actually being spotlighted today on Savvy Authors, the most amazing writer website, and here’s the link if you want to see me there:

http://savvyauthors.com/blog/index.php/spotlight-interview-paranormal-romance-author-rebekah-r-ganiere-by-ria-boulay/

But here’s what’s going on with me!

Dead Awakenings was released on January 3rd and Hit Amazon’s Top 100 list in it’s genre, right out of the gate! I have received 22 wonderful 4 and 5 star reviews for it. I am super proud of my book. It was so much fun to write and very dear to my heart, for reasons I shall not tell.

But I’ve gotten a lot of people asking what I’m doing now.

Quite a lot actually. My novel The Society, Vampire Rule, the first in my dystopian Paranormal Romance trilogy, is being finished up this month to get ready for submission.

Red the Were Hunter, which took 2nd place in the Hook, Line and Sinker Contest, is getting ready to be published under my imprint Fallen Angel Press. It is the first of a series of Fantasy Romance Fairytale Retellings. It will be out in April. I’m really excited for that.

I just finished an Untitled Werewolf Novella that I am going to submit the end of the month. It is also the first in a series of NA Werewolf novellas.

I have a short story I am finishing up to get ready to submit as well. A story about a Reaper named Rose.

I am gearing up to write a Pilot Episode of Dead Awakenings to take to production companies. And I’m neck deep in edits on four different projects. So, I’m keeping busy. Which is nice because when I first wrote Dead Awakenings four years ago I never thought I would have another book idea. And now I have over thirty just waiting in the wings to be written.  Life is good!

It’s been a while!

So, it’s been a while since I have posted. That is mostly due to the fact that I never feel I have something worthy of posting.

As an author I spend all my time putting all of energy, wit, passion and creation into my books, leaving very little left for posting on my blog.  And I am one of those people that feel like, if I don’t have something meaningful to say, why put it out there?

So I’ve finished and I do mean FINISHED Red The Were Hunter. After many critique partners and rounds of edits, it is done and in the hands of a few contests as well as a Publisher. I am super excited!

I am in edits right now on Snow and gearing up to do NaNo in which I will move on to the third book in my Fairelle series called Zelle. I am nervous and excited for Zelle because she will be different than all my other heroines. She is timid and kind, not at all the head strong women I usually write.

I have also been super busy getting ready for my FAVORITE Holiday of the year! HALLOWEEN!!!

So I think what I am going to do this month, in anticipation of my favorite Holiday! I am going to review my favorite Halloween movies! So get ready for a bunch of reviews over the next weeks!

Also, I have a new bunch of pages coming to my site soon, so be on the look out for those as well!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I logged on this morning and realized it had been about 3 weeks since I had posted on my blog.  Why?  Because I have been too busy, writing, editing, and submitting.

I edited the latest version of Red the Were Hunter and started sending it out.  Finished up my query for The Society and started sending it out as well.

Then I began all of my plotting for my Fairelle Series and have all but the last book plotted and ready to go.  I am going to finish that today.  After that I am moving on to plotting the sequel for Dead Awakenings and I need to plot out the sequel to The Society.

I am super excited to start on Snow the Vampire Slayer as soon as all the plotting is done.  And I am happy to say, that I am quite excited about it.  So, I am off, to do more writing and plotting and all other amazing fun things that writers do!
