Hey Rebekah! Thanks so much for hosting us on your blog. These questions are way too much fun.
So Rhoane:
What is your favorite drink? Dreem. Taryn tells me this is like whiskey, but better. I should like to try whiskey sometime.
Favorite Food? Normally I would say anything I caught that morning, but after tasting Taryn’s pizza, well, it was unlike anything I have ever eaten. She has promised me cheeseburgers soon. I wait with much impatience.
Best Date? The morning Taryn returned to Aelinae.
Worst Date? Any day that does not involve seeing Taryn.
What do you notice first in a woman? The warmth of her eyes, and the length of her smile.
What is your biggest pet peeve with women? When they say one thing, but mean another. It is most vexing.
Use three words to describe yourself. Don’t cross me.
If you could meet anyone who would it be? I should like to meet the assassin stalking Taryn and I would like to kill him.
What is one secret that you don’t want people to know about you? I am terrified of spiders. Truly.
Some say she’s the one of prophecy,
that she’ll bring balance to the world.
Others say she’s the destroyer,
meant to bring an end to Aelinae.
They’re both right.
Everything Taryn knew was a lie. Her life on Earth, the man she thought was her grandfather, even her age, were all fabrications meant to protect her, to keep her hidden until she could return to her home world. Once on Aelinae, Taryn realizes she has more to fear than the creeping darkness that threatens to suffocate her.
Unwilling to become a pawn in the machinations of her scheming family and the world she now calls home, Taryn sets out to learn about her mysterious powers. Reluctantly, she accepts the help of Rhoane, a man who promises to protect her, but whom she’s not sure she can trust.
As tensions mount and her loved ones are threatened, Taryn must confront an ancient enemy and stop a sinister plan to bring back a banished god.
On Aelinae they say there can be no Light without Dark and no darkness without light. If Taryn fails, there will be only Blackness. Absolute. Binding. Without end.
Failure is simply not an option.

My favorite scene of Rhoane’s is when he and Taryn are arguing and she has a mini-freak out over everything that’s been thrown at her. A family, a title, magical powers. Up to know, he’s been very aloof with her and this is a rare moment of vulnerability for him.

“What do you want from me, Rhoane?”
His voice was a whisper when he spoke, emotion raw around the edges. “I want to be with you in all things, Darennsai. In love and battle, in the quiet moments of the evening.” He took her hand and pressed their flesh together. Their runes melded into one design. “I want to be with you so completely that your thoughts are mine. I want to know your body better than my own, to know what pleases you and how to soothe your pains.” He closed his eyes, and their bonds glowed bright with his ShantiMari. “I want a smile to light your eyes every time you see me. I want to know you, your dreams, your desires, and your fears.”
He opened his eyes and stared into hers. “Prophecy says alone you fail. If you do not wish for this,” he let go of her hand, leaving Taryn feeling hollow, empty, “I will not force you.”
