Welcome to Feature Friday with Aubrie Dionne and her new release Mintrel’s Serenade.
What is your Latest Obsession? Downton Abbey. This series is fantastic! I love the depth of characters, the angst of all the marriage proposals, and the beautiful clothes and sets. I could watch a whole season at once if I’m not careful!
Who is your Secret Crush? Ha! You will never guess this one. Growing up I had a crush on Data from Star Trek. I also loved Christian Bale in the TNT version of Treasure Island with Charleton Heston. When Lord of the Rings came out, I loved Orlando Bloom as Legolas. But, when I watch the movies again, ten years later, I have to say I’m more drawn to Aragorn. My my how things have changed!
Shoes? Purses? or Jewelry? Can I have them all? I love shopping. I’ve recently discovered Kohls, and how you can rummage through the discount racks and find a whole bag of clothes for less than a hundred dollars.
Coffee? Tea? Hot chocolate? Or something else? Again, I love them all. Can we add wine to the mix?
What was your Best Vacation Ever? My honeymoon to Hawaii, that one takes the cake! I remember walking on lava, snorkeling, and watching sunsets. It was gorgeous and I hope to back someday.
Favorite Music to Write to? I listen to internet radio, usually Soma FM Deep Space One. It’s relaxing without words, so I can think of my own to write!
One food item grosses you out to eat? Eggplant. It’s always has a yucky, squishy quality. And it looks like an alien egg. Who wants to eat that?
Blurb:
He’s sworn to protect her, but can he save her from himself?
Danika Rubystone has hated the minstrels ever since her mother ran away with one. As Princess, she’s duty bound to marry Valorian, a minstrel from the House of Song. But problems in the kingdom are mounting. With her father dead she’s the sole heir to an imperiled throne, and wyverns attack Ebonvale’s southern shores. But after Danika finds a lone survivor of a wyvern’s attack who holds the key to protecting the kingdom and she finally meets the enchantingly sly Valorian, everything changes.
As Ebonvale’s Royal Guard sails with the minstrels to smite the uprising of wyverns, Danika dances a line between sticking by duty like her father, or following her wild heart like her mother.
