Feature Friday with CJ Burright

Today for our Feature Friday we have the wonderful CJ Burright! So we’re going to start with a few fun questions for CJ!

What is your Latest Obsession?

Game of Thrones! Everyone in my circle knows to keep silent or pay the price during G of T hour. It’s awesome to see the story brought to life and the HBO version strays from the books sometimes, so I don’t want to miss the small surprises that slip in. My only complaint: there should be more Jon Snow. Just sayin’. And if G.R.R. kills him off, I’ll be one very unhappy, murderous camper.

Who is your Secret Crush?

It’s not really a secret, but Alexander Skarsgard. I’ll watch anything with him in it, and I’ve discovered some quaint but surprisingly good movies because of him. He seems like a class act and is never involved in Hollywood scandals, which is a bonus in my weird little world. My hubby hates it when I wear my True Blood T-shirt to bed, but really. He shouldn’t have bought it for me if he didn’t want to snuggle up to Alexander, right?

Shoes? Purses? or Jewelry?

Asics for shoes (you never know when the zombie apocalypse will strike). My practical purse didn’t come with a name so I pegged it Bertha. If you’re offering to buy me jewelry, make it a bracelet or earrings.

Coffee? Tea? Hot chocolate? Or something else?

Mochas, mochas, all day long…until it’s wine time.

What was your Best Vacation Ever?

Hard one! I love Disney World and Florida is fun, but one of the most memorable mini-vacays for me was a trip to the Columbia Gorge to watch the Dave Matthews Band in concert (outside at sunset–gorgeous!) and then we hit a couple Seattle Mariners games. Music and baseball is hard to beat.

He haunts her dreams and embodies her nightmares…

A dreamcaster with the ability to channel creatures from her nightmares, headstrong and cynical Kalila Montgomery longs for a peaceful, picket-fence life…until the man literally of her dreams kidnaps her. Survival quickly becomes her number one goal, yet a growing attraction to the man featured in her nightmares is impossible to ignore. While she fears he will kill her, other, more terrifying enemies surround her, and Kalila succumbs to his scheme to escape.

She may be his one hope for freedom…

A deadly combination of power, cunning, and cold-hearted charm, Lydon v’al Endrian fears nothing. Feels nothing. Chained to a brotherhood of men with the supernatural ability to invade dreams, he hunts dreamcasters to be harvested for their dreams and killed. His target: Kalila Montgomery. But Kalila awakens an undeniable dark desire and a longing for a freedom long-lost. To gain everything he craves, Lydon must seduce Kalila before his plot is discovered…a hopeless challenge which, if failed, will earn him a death-sentence.

Caught up in a dangerous world of secrets and obsession, doubt and betrayal, Kalila and Lydon face the nightmare of their lives, where love will either deliver them—or destroy them both.

Never ever look back

C. J. Burright was born and raised in Oregon and loved it so much she never left. While she has worked for years in a law office, she chooses to avoid writing legal thrillers and instead leans toward urban fantasy, paranormal romance, or—since all things medieval and magic fascinate her—fantasy romance. A member of Romance Writers of America and Secretary for the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal special interest chapter, C. J. also has her 4th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and believes stories should always include a gratuitous fight scene. In what spare time she has, she enjoys working out, reading, gardening, and rooting on the Seattle Mariners with a nice glass of wine. She shares a house with her husband, daughter, and a devoted herd of cats.

CJ’s debut NA Urban Fantasy Wonderfully Wicked is out May 13, 2014 from Swoon Romance – available on Amazon and iBooks. Visit her at her website www.cjburright.comFacebookTwitter, or Goodreads.  Email her at cjburright@live.com.

Thanks for the fun questions and having me on your blog, Rebekah!

    • He’s pretty tolerant most of the time, but I still have my suspicions that he’s the one with a secret crush on Alexander. Which is totally understandable, in my opinion.

  1. Man it’s hard to keep up with you CJ. You do get around. That’s a good thing though. Keep on keeping on.

Mochas and cats? Oh man, you’re killing me here. I’m tea and dogs. But we’ve still got the Disney thing. And wine. Those are two very important things in any cyber relationship. (Relationship? That sounds sort of kinky. But you know what I mean.)

Another great interview. And you are correct, your hubby should not have bought you that t-shirt knowing your desire and all. Now he’s got to deal with the consequences of his actions. Silly, silly man. Don’t tell him though or next time he’ll get you something with Hello Kitty on it. Snuggle up to that. (Nothing against Hello Kitty, mind you, but it’s not the same thing.)

    Have a great weekend, Coleen!

  2. And I’m so glad you go on blog field trips with me, Patricia! Wine and Disneyland are the true foundations of an electronic, long-distance-FF (friends forever), and I suppose Mickey Mouse trumps kitty cats. Barely.

For some reason, he hasn’t bought me any more T-shirts, but my BFF is always good for giving me crush-stuff, so I’ve got back-up. Plus, Hello Kitty rocks! 🙂 You have a great weekend too!
